Intel Corporation is the world's leading semiconductor manufacturer, Intel has major research and manufacturing facilities in the Portland area.

Nike, Inc. Named for the Greek goddess of victory, Nike is the world's leading supplier of athletic shoes, apparel and sports equipment. Headquartered at the spectacular Nike World Campus in Beaverton, Nike is a Fortune 500 Company.

Oregon Health Sciences University is located on Marquam Hill close to downtown Portland. The University Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center. Doernbecher Children's Hospital specializes in pediatric medicine and care of children with long-term illnesses. The Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center is located next to the OHSU campus.

Providence Health & Services includes two large Portland hospitals, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Providence Portland Medical Center, several smaller hospitals, and numerous outpatient facilities throughout Portland. Founded in Quebec by the Sisters of Providence, Providence now operates in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon and California.

Legacy Health System: Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center is a Level I Trauma Center, houses the Oregon Burn Center, and is the base for Life Flight Network, the region's critical care transport service. Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital is a full-service 155-bed hospital located within Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center. Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center, located in Northwest Portland, was founded in 1875 by the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon.

Kaiser Permanente has one hospital, 27 outpatient clinics, 17 dental offices and several administrative offices throughout the Portland area.

U.S. Bancorp: United States National Bank of Portland was founded in Portland in 1891, later changing its name to United States National Bank of Oregon. First Bank System acquired the bank and moved its headquarters to Minneapolis in 1997. The parent company then changed its name to U.S. Bancorp. The U.S. Bancorp Tower in downtown Portland remains an icon of the Portland skyline, and many U.S. Bank branches operate in the Portland area.

Fred Meyer Stores known to locals as "Freddies" this company pioneered retail super centers that combine grocery and department stores. Fred G. Meyer founded the first store in downtown Portland in 1922.

Safeway, Inc. Portland division operates over 120 stores in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Albertson's grocery store chain was acquired by SuperValu in 2006, but stores in Oregon still operate under the Albertson's name.

Wells Fargo opened their first express office in Oregon in 1852. There are 132 Banking Stores,18 Home Mortgage Stores, 14 Financial Stores, and 21 Retail Brokerage Stores in Oregon. Wells Fargo has approximately 6,800 employees in Oregon.

Adidas America, Inc. manufactures and wholesales sports footwear, apparel, and accessories. It offers tennis, running, and basketball shoes; women's and misses' outerwear; mens' and boys' clothing; and women's and children's clothing, as well as rubber or plastic footwear. Adidas America, Inc. was formerly known as Sports, Inc. and changed its name to Adidas America, Inc. in 1993. The company was incorporated in 1975 and is based in Portland, Oregon. Adidas America, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Adidas AG.

Freightliner is a division of Daimler Trucks North America, the largest manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles in North America and a leading manufacturer of medium-duty vehicles. Daimler Trucks North America designs, builds and markets a wide range of Class 3-8 vehicles including long-haul highway tractors, heavy-duty construction and vocational trucks, mid-range trucks for distribution and service, school and transit buses, fire and emergency service apparatus and chassis for step vans, school and shuttle buses and motor homes. Freightliner Trucks is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, with truck manufacturing facilities located in Portland and throughout the United States.

United Parcel Service, commonly known as UPS, was founded in Seattle, WA in 1907. The companies current headquarters are in Sandy Springs, Georgia. UPS's primary business is the time-definite delivery of packages and documents worldwide. In recent years UPS has extended their service portfolio to include partial truckload transportation (primarily in the U.S.) and supply chain services. UPS reports their operations in three segments: U.S. Domestic Package operations, International Package operations, and Supply Chain & Freight operations.

Portland General Electric has operated in the Northern Willamette Valley since 1889 and today serves over 800,000 customers in 52 Oregon Cities. PGE has approximately 2700 employees today.

Farmers Insurance Company of Oregon was founded in 1928 in Los Angeles. Today, Farmers Insurance Group of Companies is the country's third-largest insurer of both private passenger automobile and homeowners insurance, and also provides a wide range of other insurance and financial services products. Farmers operates primarily in 41 states across the country through the efforts of approximately 20,000 employees. Farmers exclusive and independent agents, along with Farmers employees, are responsible for servicing more than 15 million customers.

Standard Insurance Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1906, The Standard is a nationally recognized provider of group disability, life, dental and vision insurance and individual disability insurance. Standard provides insurance to more than 28,500 groups covering approximately 7.6 million employees nationwide.

Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon is a nonprofit health care company.
