Arnold Creek at a Glance

Arnold Creek is a neighborhood and a creek located in the Southwest section of Portland just North of Lake Oswego and is close to both Downtown Portland and Lake Oswego.  Arnold Creek is boarded by West Portland Park to the West, Markham and Marshall to the North, Collins View and Tyron Creek State Park to the East, and Lake Oswego to the South.  With excellent schools, a population of around 3000, and an 89% home ownership rate Arnold Creek is an attractive neighborhood for people.  Most of Arnold Creek homes were built in the 1950's and 60's with more homes filling in the open parcels in the 1980's and 90's, new construction in the area tends to lean towards luxury homes.

Arnold Creek offers many activities for families with school age children with its many parks, youth sports and recreation, and active community involvment. People without school age children will also find many activties to enjoy in Arnold Park.

Parks & Recreation in Arnold Creek

Arnold Park has 20 parks and greenspaces in the surrounding area.  Tyron Creek State Park and Maricara Natural Area are both located within the Arnold Creek neighborhood.

• Tyron Creek State Park is located only minutes from downtown Portland and is Oregon's only state park within the Portland Metro Area.  This 645 acre park offers hiking and bird watching along the Trillium Trail, and Tyron Creek has one of the only runs of Steelhead Trout in the area.  The Arnold Park Log Home is also located within the Tyron Creek State Park and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was built by John Arnold between 1907 and 1917.
• Maricara Natural Area is a 17.25 acre park offering natural trails, wetland, a protected stream, native plants, and older second growth trees.
• The Southwest Coummunity Center & Pool - Includes basketball court – indoor, community center, fitness room, gymnasium, kitchen – reservable, meeting room – reservable, party room – reservable, rock climbing wall, swimming pool – indoor, weight room, and Wireless Internet Access.
