Collins View

At a Glance

Collins View is a neighborhood located in the Southwest section of Portland.  It borders the neighborhoods of Marshall Park and Arnold Creek to the West, Tyron Creek State Park to the South, Dunthorpe and River View Cemetery to the East, and South Burlingame to the North.  The campus of Lewis and Clark College is in the Southeastern portion of the neighborhood. It is only a few minutes to downtown Portland, Lake Oswego, and the Willamette River.

Collins View consists of 14 distinct neighborhoods and is naturally divided.  The population is approximately 2055 with a 78% home ownership rate. Some of the neighborhoods have single entrance and exit points.  Collins View has a commercial center but has a remote almost rural feel. It is a highly desirable and sought after neighborhood with it's lovely estates and impressive views. It has four cemeteries two of which are historic. With its close proximity to Lewis and Clark College there are a number of students, faculty, and staff that live in the Collins View neighborhood.

Parks & Recreation in Collins View

• Marshal Park 25.88 Acres Marshall Park was donated to the City of Portland by F.C and Addie Marshall in 1951. Marshall Park is primarily a natural area with hiking trails.  Within the park is a waterfall, a small stone bridge over Tyron Creek and a playground which sits on what was once the home site of the Marshal summer home.
• Jensen Natural Area 2.24 acres of woodland and natural foliage.
• Tyron Creek State Park - Portland's only state park within the Portland Metro Area.  This 645 acre park offers hiking and bird watching along the Trillium Trail, and Tyron Creek has one of the only runs of Steelhead Trout in the area.  The Arnold Park Log Home is also located within the Tyron Creek State Park and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was built by John Arnold between 1907 and 1917.
• Willamette Park -  While not located in Collins View this is a popular spot for boaters and is only a few minutes away. It has a boat doc, boat ramp, picnic areas, dog off-leash area, walking paths, playground, and sports fields.
