Intel Corporation

The world's leading semiconductor manufacturer, Intel has major research and manufacturing facilities in the Portland area.

Nike, Inc.

Named for the Greek goddess of victory, Nike is the world's leading supplier of athletic shoes, apparel and sports equipment. Headquartered at the spectacular Nike World Campus in Beaverton, Nike is a Fortune 500 Company.

Oregon Health Sciences University

OHSU is located on Marquam Hill close to downtown Portland. The University Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center. Doernbecher Children's Hospital specializes in pediatric medicine and care of children with long-term illnesses. The Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center is located next to the OHSU campus.

Providence Health & Services

The Providence health system includes two large Portland hospitals, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Providence Portland Medical Center, several smaller hospitals, and numerous outpatient facilities throughout Portland. Founded in Quebec by the Sisters of Providence, Providence now operates in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon and California.

Legacy Health System

Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center is a Level I Trauma Center, houses the Oregon Burn Center, and is the base for Life Flight Network, the region's critical care transport service. Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital is a full-service 155-bed hospital located within Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center. Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center, located in Northwest Portland, was founded in 1875 by the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon.

Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser has one hospital, 26 outpatient clinics, 15 dental offices and several administrative offices throughout the Portland area.

U.S. Bancorp

United States National Bank of Portland was founded in Portland in 1891, later changing its name to United States National Bank of Oregon. First Bank System acquired the bank and moved its headquarters to Minneapolis in 1997. The parent company then changed its name to U.S. Bancorp. The U.S. Bancorp Tower in downtown Portland remains an icon of the Portland skyline, and many U.S. Bank branches operate in the Portland area.

Fred Meyer Stores

Known to locals as "Freddies" this company pioneered retail super centers that combine grocery and department stores. Fred G. Meyer founded the first store in downtown Portland in 1922.

Safeway, Inc.

Safeway's Portland division operates over 120 stores in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Albertson's

The Albertson's grocery store chain was acquired by SuperValu in 2006, but stores in Oregon still operate under the Albertson's name.
